Bay of Poets

Portami qui

2 ore in treno

Villages overlooking the sea, green hills and clear transparent water. The Gulf of Poets was greatly loved by poets and writers such as Shelley, Byron, Petrarch and Montale: from them the gulf got his name. The gulf stretches from Lerici to Portovenere between two promontories embracing beaches, rugged coastline, blue sea, ancient villages and wild nature. Spend at least half a day in Portovenere, with its Old Town, colorful houses and a castle on a cliff overlooking the sea, where you can have a breathtaking view of the Cinque Terre.
